Summer Sands (Hut A184) is a gorgeous brand new blue hut next-door to the Daisy Hut (Hut A183) on the front row at Walton-on-the-Naze, near to the Frinton corner. It is perfect for those who prefer to be a little further from the hectic pier end and great for larger groups who want to book two huts next to each other! The hut is owned by the lovely Rob, who has asked me to rent it out on his behalf so that we can share the beach hut love around!
It is set back up a few steps from the prom with your own space outside to set up your deckchairs and table and spread out across the steps away from the prom where everyone’s walking along. There are steps nearby to access the fabulous golden sandy beach. Summer Sands has a very unique feature that most huts do not have! It has a back door! This means that you can choose to sit either in front of the hut facing the beach or behind the hut on the decking by the grassy bank with the views facing west over The Leas beach! This gives you options for sitting in the sun or shade depending on the time of day and also out of the wind if it’s coming from the sea! Nifty! It also has a glass window that you can have open or shut depending on the weather! Snazzy!
The nearest WC facilities are only 50m away and there is a communal tap there too. These nearby ones may be closed in winter but during this time you can use the facilities in front of the pier. If you would like exact dates of the toilets and taps being open then please contact Tendring Seafronts team on 01255 686638
Everything you could need is provided in the hut including:
Mugs and tumblers
Plates and cutlery
Wine and champagne glasses!
Washing up bowl
Tea, Coffee and Sugar
The hut is equipped for 8 and the maximum number allowed per booking including adults, children and pets is 10. This is so as to exist harmoniously with our neighbours and not overload the hut, the prom and the equipment.
The address is Hut A184, Front Row, Southcliff Promenade, Walton on the Naze, Essex CO14 8EJ
The best place to park is in the large public carpark near the pier (Church Road, CO14 8DE). There is also parking along the residential streets nearby and in the station carpark. Both carparks cost £6 for the day
If you are visiting the hut from October to April you can park at the end of Woodberry Way, CO14 8ER and walk down the footpath then turn LEFT at the beach and approach the hut from that direction which is slightly shorter than approaching from the pier end.
From the pier end, with the sea on your left, walk along the prom, round the bend, past ‘May’s Boardwalk Café’ until you are nearly at the Frinton corner and you will find Summer Sands a few huts before the corner.
Access to the hut is via a key safe on the side of the hut. The code is changed on a regular basis so you will need to get the code from us before your visit
The Beach Hut is available from 10am until 6pm. If you are booking consecutive days you may stay in the hut until 10pm apart from your last day when you must leave by 6pm
Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round on our side of the pier but please remember to scoop the poop! They are welcome in the Hut but please do not leave them unattended in the hut or let them on the furniture.
Beach towels, tea towels and bin bags are not provided so please take your own.
May’s Boardwalk Café is nearby and sells teas, coffees, icecreams, chips, paninis etc and the Kiosk by the pier sells similar. Walton Pier is a short stroll away and includes arcades, rides and refreshments. There is also sea fishing available from the pier and a short walk will take you into Walton Town Centre.
